Ask US Presidential Candidates "The Robot Question"
"As president, what would be your approach to workforce automation?" That's an important question that has yet to be raised during the 2016 presidential election race, but the answer could have a profound impact on how trends in automation impact the wider economy. Predictions may vary as to how many jobs the American economy could lose over the next one or two decades. An Oxford study predicts 47% of jobs could be automated by 2033; consulting firm Gartner predicts 33% by 2025. A recent OECD study suggests previous figures to be very much overblown, that the total jobs lost to automation in the next two decades is closer to 9% across 21 countries.

Carly Chaikin Answers Your Mr. Robot Questions (Hint: Yes, It's Realistic)
Last summer, Mr. Robot turned out to be a surprise hit--a show that became the the hottest topic around the watercooler in just nine episodes. A lot of that chatter came from the fact that the show--and its portrayal of our hyperconnected economy--felt very prescient. "The scariest part of the show is that it is completely accurate, and everything that happens on the show can happen in real life," says Carly Chaikin, who plays fsociety hacker Darlene on Mr. Robot. The actress also says that while last season was "amazing," the second season, which begins tonight, is "so much better." Granted, as a star of Mr. Robot, Chaikin is supposed to say that.
